Diolite Laser
Small facial veins or broken capillaries
are common as we age. Veins may be due to sun exposure, and are
commonly seen in acne rosacea. They occur on th e
nose, cheeks, forehead, and chin. Excellent medications such as
Metrogel and Tetracycline antibiotics will treat the acne pimple
component, but do not improve the facial veins or redness.
The Diolite laser
has been a technological breakthrough for the treatment of the visible
veins. The selective beam of the laser targets only the red color
in the veins and destroys it without harming the surface. There
is no bruising and no scabbing, and there is little to no down time
for the patient. Incidental freckles also may disappear. Occasionally,
mild peeling can occur. The treatment takes only minutes with mild
pinkness or redness that could last 1-3 days, and swelling for a
few hours afterwards. A series of treatments are usually needed.
The results are immediate and you are back to normal activity the
next day. The Diolite is truly the next best thing to sliced bread,
velcro, and stickums!

Candela V-Beam laser
When facial veins become too small
to be seen with the naked eye or when background redness exists
or persists after Diolite laser, the V-Beam laser is our next effective
treatment option.
We are pleased
to offer the Candela V-Beam laser for the treatment of vascular
lesions such as port wine stains, angiomas, telangiectasia, and
acne rosacea. The red color in the superficial blood vessels is
selectively targeted and destroyed by this technology, decreasing
the veins and blush of rosacea. It is very effective, non-invasive,
and requires little “downtime.” Candidates for laser
generally require 2–3 treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart for
optimal results. Improvement is almost immediate and increases gradually
with each subsequent procedure.
The procedure takes
only minutes to perform and requires no anesthesia. All patients
will experience “pinkness” that may last 2-3 days, but
bruising and scabbing do not occur. Some swelling may also be present
for up to 3 days.
Fractional Non-Ablative Laser
The Starlux Fractional non-ablative
laser system delivers light in an array of narrow, focused “microbeams”
to create columns of coagulation within the skin. These columns
initiate a natural healing process that forms new healthy tissue.
The fractional non-ablative system sends light pulses into the epidermis
and dermis, leaving the stratum corneum in place. The fractional
laser approach stimulates quick healing with no long term redness.
A series of treatments
at 3-6 week intervals is necessary for optimal results. Redness,
warmth, swelling and tightness may occur, but should resolve within
a few hours of treatment. The skin may have a pinkish tone for up
to 7 days, but generally normal activities can be resumed without
any recovery time.
The Starlux fractional
non-ablative laser can be the perfect choice for those who wish
to avoid the raw skin, down time, and risk of infection that may
occur with ablative laser devises. Positive changes in the appearance
of acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles may appear in a few days,
without any recovery time.
