We appreciate your selection of this
office to serve your dermatology needs. It is our goal to provide
you with the best and highest standards of medical care and most
current treatments and technological advances in dermatology. All
patients deserve and will be treated with respect and professionalism
to foster a caring patient-physician relationship.
Insurance & Office Fees
The office participates in Medicare,
Blue Shield, Keystone, Select Blue, UPMC and numerous insurance
programs; your insurance will be billed accordingly. If you are
an HMO patient and do not have a referral before you are seen by
the physician, you are responsible for all fees for the visit. If
you have a commercial insurance plan, before you leave the office
we will give you itemized receipts to file with your carrier.
Medical Necessity / Cosmetic Procedures
The insurance industry defines a visit
or procedure as medically necessary if it is for the purpose of
improving your health. Some procedures performed by dermatologists
are considered "cosmetic" in nature. All cosmetic procedures
are to be paid in full at the time of the visit.
Scheduling Appointments
Office hours are by appointment only.
Please specify the exact nature of your visit so that enough physician
time will be set aside. If for any reason you must cancel your appointment,
please call the office as far in advance as possible. At times,
an emergency may arise that would delay your appointment. We ask
your cooperation and patience under these circumstances and we will
try to give you all the attention required for your scheduled appointment.
When you arrive at the office, please present your insurance cards
to the receptionist. It is important that you keep us informed of
any changes in your insurance coverage. If your plan requires a
referral, please have this processed before arriving for your appointment.
Telephone Calls
We always try to have a friendly live
voice answer the telephone. At high volume times we must use an
automated telephone system to better route your phone calls and
provide you with general information about the practice.
